On Saturday, April 22nd we celebrated our planet. Earth Day was founded in 1970 to demonstrate our support for environmental health and success, worldwide. Here at Clean Fuel Partners our mission is to make a difference in the world by improving the environment in tangible and measurable ways. We use tools such as our network of Renewable Energy Ecosystems to create clean natural energy resources and bolster the economy by creating green energy jobs. Our goal is to work alongside farmers, businesses and neighbors to create a new energy future.
It is with that goal in mind that we actively develop partnerships with environmental organizations and local universities, to combine efforts and strengthen the foundation for environmental advancement.
We are pleased to share the progress of our latest project, made possible by a partnership with the Department of Soil Science at UW-Madison. This week a Nitrogen Recovery Unit (NRU) Pilot was installed at our Dane Facility.
This unit, designed and patented by Barak Labs (Department of Soil Science, UW-Madison), was built to extract specific nutrients from agricultural waste at a higher rate than anaerobic digestion alone, allowing for environmentally beneficial redistribution of the nutrients to land that is lacking in natural nitrogen sources. This experimental system is just one aspect of the Dept of Soil Science, UW-Madison’s work – visit http://soils.wisc.edu/ to read more.
We are grateful to UW-Madison, the Department of Soil Science, and Barak labs for giving us the opportunity to assist with important research like the NRU Pilot System. Be sure to follow us on social media (Twitter and Facebook) or subscribe to our newsletter below to get updates on how the program is going and what other new technology is being used at Clean Fuel Partners.
