Our Digested Manure Solids are a versatile and environmentally sound solution for your business. Put this resource to work for you today.
What is CF Fiber?
CF Fiber is a nutrient rich resource produced from the digester process, referred to as Digested Manure Solids (DMS). It is left over indigestible material and microorganisms. CF Fiber is not compost, though it is a very stable base on which compost can (and does) occur. It looks and feels like peat moss.
How is it processed?
CF Fiber starts as raw manure slurry that is pumped to the facility from three surrounding dairy farms. The manure is processed through a 100° anaerobic digester and held, on average, 25 days.
Following the digester, the slurry is run through dewatering equipment, separating liquid from solids. The solids are available in two forms: fresh and dry.
Fresh DMS has 67-72% moisture content. This is a great base for composting and as a soil amendment/fertilizer. Dry DMS goes through a 500° drum dryer to reduce moisture content to under 65%.
The nutrient content (in lbs) for a ton of CF Fiber is as follows:
Nitrogen………………………………. 13.56
Phosphorus P205………………………… 10.87
Potassium K20………………………….. 5.17
Sulfur………………………………… 1.73
Carbon:Nitrogen ratio…………………… 45
% Carbon………………………………. 35%
(Measured in Lbs / Ton. Nutrient credit analysis available by request.)

Uses for CF Fiber
Green Bedding
Bedding for livestock is one opportunity for putting CF Fiber to work. DMS provides excellent animal comfort. Using it as animal bedding requires management to ensure a healthy environment with
low pathogen concentrations.
Soil amendment/fertilizer
Adding CF Fiber to soil has been
shown to increase moisture retention and organic matter. Use of DMS adds to the quality of soil while providing nutrients found in nature.
Composting
CF Fiber provides a known, consistent, and stable feedstock on which composting can occur. It is lightweight, and easy to store and transport. The compost product is an organic, nutrient rich fertilizer option that is an attractive alternative to chemical counterparts.
Fiberboard
Medium-density fiberboard and wood/plastic composite material have emerged as potential uses for CF Fiber. These engineered products can be made using DMS without sacrificing mechanical or aesthetic properties.
At Clean Fuel Partners, we focus on doing well by doing good. We are committed to developing long-term environmental solutions that meet agricultural waste management needs while reducing the ecological footprint. We are focused on protecting local watersheds by relocating nutrients from challenged areas to areas in need. With CF Fiber, you can be an integral part of that environmental commitment.
