John is the founder and CEO of Clean Fuel Partners, LLC which owns and operates 5 anaerobic digesters on two facilities located near Madison, WI. One of the facilities also includes a nutrient recovery system.
As the CEO, John’s mission has been to establish foundational corporate structure, focus on operational efficiency and facilitate innovative solutions to the organic waste processing business. With a year of plant ownership experience, he is applying his years of business knowledge to pursue farm-based waste processing and nutrient recovery systems.
CFP exists to make a difference by improving the environment in tangible, measureable ways. CFP does this by partnering with farmers and communities to transform agricultural waste supporting sustainable farming practices. CFP and its partners own, operate and manage proven digester systems that put waste to work for customers and stakeholders.
Following the motto, “doing well by doing good”‘, John and his business partner focus on creating a financially sustainable company while keeping an eye toward future. To this end, they explore new technologies, processes and improvements to meet this goal.
Prior to founding Clean Fuel, John was an investment banker and corporate executive. As a banker, he specialized in financial restructurings of large corporations in financial distress, including Chrysler, the maker of Wonder Bread and Hostess products, and a 100,000 animal dairy operation in Idaho. As an executive, he was chief financial officer of Broadway Department Stores, a California-based company with 82 department stores. Following this role, he joined the predecessor to CB Richard Ellis as CFO and worked with the CEO to build the first global real estate services firm.
John holds a BA and an MBA from Rice University.
