Clean Fuel Partners was established in 2014 with the expressed goals of methane capture, nutrient recovery, and creating renewable energy. CFP captures methane that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere through natural decomposition and removes excess nutrients during the process. This prevents overloading of soil and nutrient runoff that can adversely impact waterways, bodies of water and groundwater. CFP uses the biogas captured to generate electricity, natural gas and other products; displacing hydrocarbon-based products.
A small, two partner firm, CFP prides itself on being responsive, nimble and innovative. The company owns and operates two digester facilities in Wisconsin.
John Haeckel, Chief Executive Officer
John is the founder and CEO of Clean Fuel Partners, LLC which owns and operates 5 anaerobic digesters on two facilities located near Madison, WI. One of the facilities also includes a nutrient recovery system.
Prior to founding Clean Fuel, John was an investment banker and corporate executive. As a banker, he specialized in financial restructurings of large corporations in financial distress, including Chrysler, the maker of Wonder Bread and Hostess products, and a 100,000 animal dairy operation in Idaho. As an executive, he was chief financial officer of Broadway Department Stores, a California-based company with 82 department stores. Following this role, he joined the predecessor to CB Richard Ellis as CFO and worked with the CEO to build the first global real estate services firm.
John holds a BA and an MBA from Rice University.
Jessica Niekrasz, Chief Administrative Officer
Jessica joined Clean Fuel Partners in January of 2015 and serves as the Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Her focus is on building bonds, engaging stakeholders and thinking about the business in non-traditional ways.
Before joining CFP, Jessica’s career was rooted in marketing strategy and product development. She successfully led cross-functional teams to plan, develop and market new products in pre-employment psychological testing. Her experience of having ‘all the responsibility and none of the authority’ led her to engage team members to understand needs and find common ground – pushing projects to completion.
As a stay at home mom, Jessica started a fitness training business. She is a trained 200-hour certified yoga instructor and USA Triathlon coach.
Jessica holds and BA and MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
